“I think there’s this sense that consultants are doing everything they can to make sure they get the best rate for their client, and that the consultants that do the best work are the ones that have the best rates,” says Jason McKeown, an associate professor at the University of Ottawa.
“I guess the problem is that consultants have a lot of power to dictate what rates they’re going to pay, so I think consultants need to start looking at what they do really well, and what their clients need.”
In the end, that may mean hiring more consultants.
In the long run, it may be best for everyone if we all just get along, says McKeun.
