The question of what it means to be British has been a source of much political debate in Britain over the past half-century.

It has been the subject of debate since the birth of the United Kingdom, when the first Commonwealth nations were created in 1857.

But the debate has also focused on whether a new British identity can be created in the new world order of globalization and technological change.

The BBC World Service’s The Story of Britain program asked two people to explore this debate in 2017.

BBC News, The Story Of Britain, ‘We are British’, 1 August 2018.

The Story: What is British?

BBC News (Britain) 1 August – Today’s programme is a continuation of our series that explores the history and culture of the UK and what makes it so special.

This episode was produced by Peter Fenton, who has produced the BBC’s World Service series The Story from 1999 to 2018.

We’ll be looking at what it is to be a British person, how it feels to be part of a country and the differences between the different nationalities.

This week’s theme is “What it means for Britain”.

This is part of the BBC World News programme.
