The reboot of the Battlestar franchise has been in development for a few years, but the latest buzz is the fact that director Matt Reeves and co-writer Christopher McQuarrie have signed on to write and direct a pilot episode for the new Battlestars reboot.
It will air in 2018.
According to Variety, the pilot will be a half-hour story, and Reeves will serve as executive producer.
“We’ve got a lot of great ideas for the series and I’m excited about getting to work with our brilliant team,” Reeves said in a statement.
The pilot will follow the Battlenose as they go undercover to investigate an alien invasion and will air on CBS in 2018, but it is not yet clear if the reboot will be produced in collaboration with CBS or if the show will be filmed outside of the United States.
